Welcome to the Early Literacy Skills Builder (ELSB) Pilot Study resource site. We are providing two reporting options for monitoring the progress of students in your pilot study:
Both forms provide a place for adding comments and optional information (e.g., standardized assessment information, observations of literacy behaviors occurring outside of the lessons, such as asking to be read to, changes in communication or motor behaviors, parents’ comments about changed behaviors at home, etc.). Your supervisor will indicate which forms you should use, how often you should complete them, and where you should send them once completed. Remember to set aside approximately 90 minutes each day for literacy development: 60 mins. for the ELSB Building with Sounds and Symbols lessons—which focus on phonemic awareness, alphabetic principle, reading comprehension, and vocabulary—and 30 minutes for the Building with Stories component—the story-based lessons using classroom literature.
