Incorporate the best practices of systematic and direct instruction effortlessly! ELSB Software is a multiyear pre-literacy curriculum for students who have not acquired print and phonemic awareness. The Early Literacy Skills Builder curriculum is based on five years of scientific research to teach fundamental literacy skills to children with significant disabilities. Conducted at the University of North Carolina-Charlotte, the study showed consistently higher scores on all literacy measures, compared to control groups using the Edmark Reading Program. This unique, rigorous program is now available in an easy-to-use software and app that your students will love!
Guided by Moe the Frog, students progress through 7 levels covering sight words, fluency, comprehension, and phonics. Teacher scripts are read with appropriate inflections and pace, allowing you to focus solely on student behavior and learning. You can set up instruction as a class or individually. Students create unique avatars and progress is recorded as assessments are taken at the end of each level. The software has a student management system to track results and monitor usage.
The ELSB web-based version is a one or three-year subscription for up to 20 students. Teachers can manage student access to apps, view results, and monitor student usage. Students can log directly into to the app or from a student desktop launch page.
Both free and full versions of this app are available on the App Store for iPad and the Google Play Store. You can also buy it directly from us and here's how it works: The free apps have an in-app purchase option to upgrade to the full version. Attainment will provide an Access Code in a subsequent email so you can convert the free app to the full-featured version.
ELSB is also available as a printed curriculum - Early Literacy Skills Builder.
