The Cashier at Work app is an aid to help a cashier, working at a real cash register, know the type and quantity of denominations to hand out for change. The cashier would use the cash register and this app as an adjunct on a phone or tablet nearby during his/her work shift! An ideal tool for vocational training.
Simply enter the total amount of the items purchased on the number pad (as referenced on the cash register). The COST field at the top of the screen shows the cashier's entries.
Next, enter the amount of money received from the customer by selecting the matching currency denominations displayed on the cash register drawer screen. If preferred, the amount can be entered on a number pad by selecting the Number Pad button at the bottom. The GOT field at the top of the screen shows the cashier's running total. After confirming the amount received, a cash register drawer displays the quantity and type of denominations to give back to the customer. The amount to be returned is shown in the CHANGE field at the top. A toggle switches on each compartment to turn that denomination off or on. These toggles are used to match what is available in the real cash register. For example, if the drawer is out of quarters, turn off the quarters, and Cashier @ Work will recalculate using the available coins.
When the customer is paying with a debit card and wants cash back, select the Debit Card button. Select Yes or No to confirm that cash has been requested and will be given back to the customer.
Enter the amount of cash requested on the number pad, and Cashier @ Work will display the proper denominations.
Try this great training tool to increase employability options for your students!
