Courseware provides online courses for academic content. Courseware currently consists of six titles. Four science titles, Explore Life Science Software, Explore Earth Science Software, Explore Chemistry Software, and Explore Biology Software, and two social studies titles, Explore American Democracy Software and Explore World History Software. Plans for Courseware titles across all four content areas and transition are under way! Courseware covers standards-based concepts in Earth science, life science, chemistry, biology, American democracy, and world history through a multimedia approach: anticipatory sets, vocabulary ID and comprehension, text-to-speech reading passages, videos, quizzes, and term tests. To help differentiate instruction, the software includes an alternate level, Level A, for students who need symbol supports and minimal text. To reinforce student learning and enhance student engagement, we've integrated a reward structure. Students celebrate vocabulary victories, content conquests, and video adventures with colorful badges and souvenirs, like stamps, trophies, and artifacts, as they progress through the courses. A base station serves as a gateway to exploratory adventures in the Kalahari, Greece, and Indonesia. Students can also earn coins for rewards in the avatar store or play arcade games to acknowledge their individual successes! Sound effects, music, and the gamification (e.g., reward system) can all be turned off or customized for each student.
Progress is tracked instantly, noting correct and incorrect responses, as well as needed prompts. Term tests can be used as both pre- and post-assessments to determine present levels of performance and mastery. Reinforce the online content with our Explore Life Science Curriculum, Explore Earth Science Curriculum, Explore Chemistry Curriculum, Explore Biology 2nd Edition Curriculum, Explore American Democracy Curriculum, and Explore World History 2nd Edition Curriculum to make real-life connections to content, access extension activities, and promote hands-on learning.
